Opinion:               Kale is nothing more than a village slave, but she soon finds out that she has a very important role in her world’s fate. After finding a dragon’s egg her village sends her to the capital of Amara, her world.  there she is to learn about Wulder, aka God, and Paladin, aka Jesus. But with an unexpected twist she finds herself mindspeaking, finding wizards who don’t want to be found, and rescuing a rare dragon egg from the evil wizard, Risto. This book is fantasy but has some of the deepest Christian truths hidden in it. It is a very action packed book and there are 4 more books in the series! I can’t wait to read them all!

Opinion:               Despite the buzz on this book, I was not particularly in love with it.  I found Meyer’s writing to be very drab and boring.  I gave this book two stars because I liked the plot, but I really didn’t enjoy the writing and the fact that Bella was very whiny and needy.  So, to make a long story short, I did not get bitten by the Twilight bug and personally I would not recommend it to other people.

Opinion:               Speak was about a girl who was an outsider in her school.  Everybody hated her ever since she called the cops on a high school party.  Although Melinda had a good excuse for calling the cops, she feels like she can’t tell anybody her reason.  She has to learn a lot of lessons to come to terms with herself and by the end of the book, she finally gets her secret out to those that can help her.  Melinda finally discovered that sometimes you have to speak, even if it may not be the easiest thing to do.

Along with her “Dogs” and an assortment of other odd friends Beka finds herself caught in kidnappings, murders, and more. This book is hard to put down and a thriller to the very last page.

Opinion:               I had never read a book by Sarah Dessen, and I assure you that this was an excellent introduction to her writing.  Lock and Key is about a girl named Ruby and how she has many new transitions in her life like her fancy new prep school, new home, and having to live with a sister she hasn’t seen in ten years that left her with her troubled mom.  Once she enters this new life, she meets a guy named Nate.  Their relationship blossoms and Ruby has to learn that receiving help from other people doesn’t make you weak.  This novel by Sarah Dessen will make you want more of her writing.

Opinion:               In this book, an ordinary teenager discovers that she is a princess, and must take princess lessons with her snotty grandmother. She also has to deal with her best friend, her crush, and her mother’s boyfriend, her algebra teacher. This book is extreamly different than the movie (the movie leaves out many events, and changes events). I was almost always wondering what would happen next, and it was very hard to put the book down (I was able to read a 331 page book over a busy long weekend!).

Opinion:               Hi, today I will be reviewing a book called The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod Book 1: Eighth Grade Bites and it’s by Heather Brewer.  This book is about this boy named Vladimir tod and guess what?  He is half human and half vampire so that has to leave a mark.  So he lives his life by being a vampire and he has to hide his identity because someone can find out.  Then for some reason he finds out that someone wants to kill him so lots of things happen in the way for the one kid.  After I read this book I would have to say that it was well done and through out the book it kept my interest and I could not put it down.  So people if you are intrested in books with vampires or you love action then this book is for you and I hope you take a bite out of this book.

My sister bought this book on a whim to start reading, read up to chapter eight, then gave up. She isn’t much of a reader, so I never expected her to finish it, but although that is the case, she said that she stopped reading it because she found it not very exciting, and slightly boring. I must say I agree with her. Maybe it’s just not my type of book, but it was rather a waste of the two days it took me to read it. I’m not trying to diss the author, and though I haven’t read that many books, I’ve read enough to have a preference of writing style, and I personally didn’t like this one. It would repeat things multiple times, and I found myself thinking “I know this already, you said that in the last paragraph”. I suppose it’s a better book for maybe 14 to 15 year old boys, they might find the whole ‘evil cell phone’ story line more interesting than I did. I wouldn’t recommend this book to serious readers, it’ll be a waste of your time and probably bore you.
